Huntsmen is an idealised version of an FU Infantry Experience. It is a 24 player (2 squads) format with 1 leader taking direct control of both squads. The highest levels of cohesion are expected from participants, with individual player skill level a secondary factor. An ongoing commitment to teamwork, cooperation and initiative are the most valuable qualities an FU member can bring to an Huntsmen session. In terms of objectives Huntsmen primarily focuses on point holds, with the efficient allocation of resources and population being a defining feature.
Huntsmen has a well defined set of guidelines to follow, in order to keep the gameplay challenging whilst still being effective on the battlefield. These guidelines are as follows, and it is recommended to post them in the description of each event:
Cohesion cannot thrive without effective communication. TeamSpeak ensures that everyone is aware that voice communication is critical. At the very least, players must be able to listen to the leader's orders. Whilst Huntsmen players are not required to speak, it is highly encouraged to communicate with other players, and share important information on the battlefield. Discipline however is also an essential skill. Once we start a fight, battle comms only!
Huntsmen is limited to a maximum of 24 players (2 squads). This is to ensure that the overpopulation of fights is avoided, and comms are kept to a manageable level. Huntsmen follows a pre-decided squad composition. The details of this are ultimately decided by the leader, and is based on the following standard composition:
1 Infiltrator
1 Engineer
5 Medics
5 Heavy Assaults
Note that Heavy Assaults are expected to be flexible, and dynamically change classes. If the opportunity arises and/or at the leader's request, they are expected to switch into MAXes and supporting engineers respectively. This transition is organised by the initiative of the players themselves.
As Huntsmen, we are not interested in the grand strategy of the alert. Our primary mission parameter is to be as effective and efficient as possible on the battlefield. Of course the leader is welcome to choose fights conductive to winning the alert, however this should never be in the forefront of the leader's mind. The focus should always be on tactical level performance. It is recommended for squad leaders to disable command chat whilst leading an Huntsmen session.
Cohesion is king. Players must give their full commitment to the leader of the event if it is to be successful. Huntsmen leaders will often deliberately choose difficult fights, in order to provide challenge and offer the opportunity for players to grow. In these high intensity situations, orders must be followed closely and with urgency.
