In this section you will learn how to setup and use TFAR (Task Force Arrowhead Radio). TFAR allows you to speak ingame using teamspeak, both in proximity and over short/long range radio frequencies.
First you need to install a plugin that will allow Arma 3 and this mod to access your Teamspeak. The plugin installer is already available in the mod folder, which you an access by:
You can make sure the plugin is installed correctly by joining our TS server, clicking on yourself and making sure if you have Task Force Radio Status: showing up on your right.
As we sometimes don't use TFAR (for example, when messing around in Sandbox), you can hotkey a button to turn on/off TFAR plugin, so you don't have to ALT-TAB
to TS and back ingame to enable/disable TFAR. You can do that by:
To use proximity voice, just simply use the “Push to talk” button on Teamspeak. Change voice types by pressing CTRL + TAB
, it will go through the available voice types, doing this you will only increase/decrease the distance from which someone will be able to hear you, not the volume.

Different ways to use different radios:

Each radio has a couple of buttons as UI elements (example below), some radios have different layouts, but should have the same functionality like others (except the simple radios).
We use radios to split up comms by squads. For example, the HQ element will stay on frequency 80, Alpha squad will go to frequency 81, Bravo squad to frequency 82, etc. You can change the frequency by selecting the Frequency Number with your mouse and typing in the number with your keyboard.
For SHADOW PC users: please note that default radio key (
CAPS LOCK
) may not be working with this service, so you may need to change your radio key in settings.
Alternate radio is used to listen in on 2 different channels at the same time, useful for Command comms between squad leaders and the platoon leader when Long Range Radio isn't present. You can talk in the Alternate channel by pressing T
key by default.
To setup the Alternate channel, follow these instructions:
CTRL + P
We use ACE 3 to increase realism in our operations and to increase the range of activities and interactions we can do.
The interaction can be split into 2 types:
In vanilla you interact with the world using scroll wheel menu and space to confirm the action (healing, reviving, looting, placing/detonating explosives, etc...).
However, ACE has overidden most of vanilla interaction, barring a few exceptions, since vanilla interactions can be quite clumsy in some situations.
Using ACE3, you can have 2 different interactions:

We use CH View Distance in order to allow you to change your view distance and terrain settings on the go as well as have seperate view distance settings for Infantry/Ground Vehicles and Aircraft.
To adjust all of these settings at once, you can open the dashboard via the default keybind Ctrl + #.
You can also adjust the view distance and terrain quality on the go.
Using the Ctrl + [ and Ctrl + ] keybindings (Down and Up respectively) you can adjust your view distance for infantry/ground vehicles/aircraft depending on which one you're currently in.
The same applies for the Shift + [ and Shift + ] keybindings, except these are for the terrain quality settings.
